Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.—Thomas A. Edison [a famous inventor]

There’s a ton of words in the English language that end in “ation.” Actually, lotsofwords.com says there’s over 10,000 words ending in “ation.”

“ation” means the action of process of something (From learnthat.org)

So inspiration is the act or process of inspiring. Perspiration is the act or process of perspiring.

Fun things to do

  • Have a contest with a friend and see who can list the most words ending in “ation.” Try to use your brain and not look it up on the internet.
  • Read about Thomas Edison. You might be surprised about his many inventions. What would your world be like if he didn’t invent those things (and nobody else did either)? You could write a story or draw a picture of your house or your bedroom. What would it look like without his inventions? What would be missing that you own today?
