There’s two different reasons why it’s called the funny bone. One, the nerve pain happens when the ulnar nerve rubs against the humerus bone, a bone that runs from your shoulder to your elbow.
The word humerus is a homophone of humorous. Homophones are two words that sound alike but are spelled differently and have different meanings.
The second reason is humorous means funny, so some people believe that’s how the funny bone got its name.
