Zeller Cellar Word Fun #33

Fall is in the air. This is the favorite season for many people, especially here in the northern hemisphere. I think it’s because school has started, and kids get to see their pals after missing them over the summer.  Also, some tree leaves are turning yellow, orange and red. The cool air feels refreshing, and all the fun holidays are coming up. I’m excited. We haven’t picked from the Famous Phrases box in quite a while. You do the honors this time.

This is perfect for the season. “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” This is prime apple season. That saying goes way back in time to the 1860s from the country of Wales.

The original saying went like this: “Eat an apple on going to bed and you’ll keep the doctor from earning his bread (money).” (phrases.org.uk)
