A Mountain or a Mole Hill?

Harold in the cartoon isn’t the only one who makes a mountain out of a mole hill. We all do it at times. Parents do it, grandparents do it, other adults and kids do it, too. Making a mountain out of a mole hill is exaggerating the facts. It can mean making something sound bigger or better than it really is or making something sound worse than it really is. Exaggerate comes from an old Latin word that means to heap or pile it on.

How about sharing an example of someone you know (maybe you!) who made a mountain out of a mole hill and piled it on?
