Words that sound the same but are spelled differently are called homophones. Homo means the same and phone means sound or voice When we join these it equals same sound. Here’s an example:
Horse. Definition = a large plant-eating domesticated mammal with solid hoofs and a flowing mane and tail, used for riding, racing, and to carry and pull loads.
Hoarse. Definition = (of a person’s voice) sounding rough and harsh, typically as the result of a sore throat or of shouting.
